Dates With Hubby

The romance doesn’t
stop when you get married. Couples can still enjoy a date night every
now and then -- even if they have kids, two cars, and a mortgage.
Surprise your spouse with a special night for little or no money.
There’s
nothing wrong with relaxing at home. Use this as the jump-off point for
a quiet night together. Put the kids to bed early and enjoy some
husband and wife time.
Pick up a few of his favorite
movies. Instead of hitting Blockbuster, try the Red Box. Grocery stores
are carrying DVD’s in a vending machine. They offer the latest hits for
only a dollar a night per rental.
If you and your
hubby are competitive, try a night of games. Set up your dining room
table like a casino table. Gather any loose change around the house and
use it to play poker and other favorite card games. Before you know it,
several hours have gone by and you’ve had an exciting night.
Take
a dance class. Salsa and other Latin dance classes are great for
couples to reconnect and have a night away from the kids. This also
gives you an excuse to put on a sexy dress and wow your spouse. Most
towns offer these classes very affordably through the city “park and
recreation” department.
If you want to go out on
the town, try an off peak night like Monday or Tuesday. Earlier in the
week, your favorite restaurants may offer specials that a frugal couple
could take advantage of. Skip dessert at the restaurant and come home
for coffee and ice cream. Or plan a lunch date for an even more
affordable meal.
If romance is what you crave, turn
your boudoir into a lover’s paradise. Take your favorite perfume or his
favorite cologne and spray it on a few artificial rose petals. Spread
them around the room and on the bed for a lingering scent.
Fill
the bathtub with fragrant bubbles and light candles. After the bath,
give each other a massage. If scented oils are out of your budget, use
baby oil to soothe those aching muscles.
Date night
can be fun and inexpensive with the right amount of imagination. Work
with your hubby to make the event enjoyable for both of you
